Who is eligible for this program?

Active duty Ft. Campbell soldiers within 6 months of transitioning out of the Army are eligible to apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and a current, valid driver’s license.

How do I apply for this program?

Please visit the Education Center or the Soldier for Life Building for more information or to apply. The Ft. Campbell Education Center is located in Room 211 at 202 Bastogne Avenue, Ft. Campbell, KY 42223.

 

Additionally, you may attend the Career Fair at the Soldier for Life building on Wednesdays from 9 am to 2 pm every week.

Where is this program available?

Currently, this program is only available to soldiers stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY

How do I pay for this program?

Students will have the choice to self-pay or to utilize his or her GI Bill. (VA Educational Benefits cover 30 day programs using 2 months and 16 days of benefits).

Where are classes held? Is transportation provided?

Transition to Trades classes and laboratory instruction will be held at Total Tech school, located at 909 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37217.

 

Transportation will be provided from Fort Campbell to the training location. Soldiers will be picked up at 0530 hours and will return to Fort Campbell by approximately 1400 hours each day of class.

How long is the class? What is the schedule like?

Students may elect to participate in one, two, or three courses within the Transition to Trades program. This will constitute a 4, 8, or 12 week Career Skills Program (CSP).

 

Training occurs from Monday through Friday for 5 hours per day (20 to 24 days, totaling 100 hours). Soldiers will be picked up at 0530 hours and will be returned to Fort Campbell approximately at 1400 hours each day.

I am transitioning out of the Army but plan to move afterwards, can I participate?

Yes! This program is designed to help those who have served to transition to a successful career in their hometowns. Key industry contacts and contractor information will be provided to Transition to Trades graduates in their respective hometowns.
